Introductory Level 1 Kayaking
Theory:
* equipment: types of kayaks, paddles, life jackets, safety equipment, clothing
* risk assessment
* paddling resources
Skills:
* lifting a kayak
* wet exit
* assisted rescue (basic)
* strokes—forward, sweep & draw
COURSE DATES
1. Saturday, 18 June 2011, 9 A.M. – 1 P.M. At White Lake Provincial camp ground.
Courses will be taught by Neil Trouton. All courses are dependent on weather and water temperature conditions.

Theory:
* types of towing systems
* extra equipment needed for a day trip
Skills:
* assisted rescue – other types
* solo rescue
* towing
* refinement of paddle strokes learned in level 1
* edging, low brace
Courses must be prepaid by cheque to SARP. Non members must include a signed waiver with payment.
Cost: (for level 1 & 2 courses)
$60.00 for members with kayaks, paddles, PDF, etc.
$75.00 for members without kayak and gear
$90.00 for non-members with kayak & gear
$110.00 for non-members without kayak & gear
